First tractor load of Barroca arrived at the winery at 5:30pm. The grapes look very healthy but there is some raisining from the recent heat. As the Barroca is a thin-skinned variety it is more prone to this.
It’s a tradition at Malvedos to weigh in and weigh out after the harvest. Fonseca came in at a sprightly 64 Kg while Juca a heftier 100. Whoever puts on weight has to buy a round at the end!
As it the first night I’m taking the team out for an early dinner at the Calca Curta in Tua. Excellent octupus filetes even though we are so far from the sea!
